This illustration was created for Japan Day in Central Park and won Honorable Mention and Special Jurors Award. It is inspired by the Japanese flag, and if you look closely, you will see the islands of Japan in the highlights, the Angel of Bethesda Fountain in the leaf, and Central Park's iconic apartment buildings.
