"Stay Wild, Uluwehi"

"Uluwehi" means lush in Hawaiian, and when the ocean is thriving with limu, it has a lushness to it. "Stay Wild, Uluwehi" evokes a future where our local waters are filled with thriving, native species. This is a portrait of my sister illustrated in a 70's hippie style. Her hair is created entirely of Hawaiian limu and algae. In the middle of her headband, sits a lone starfish. When the NFT vanishes, hope remains if we remember where we came from, and the Hōkūpa'a (the North Star) is revealed to illuminate the way home.
